As a participant in Aviation Medicine and First Aid Training at the Aerospace Medical and Training Center, her experience embodies the profound impact of knowledge and preparedness in facing unforeseen crises.

From the onset of her training, Ms. Singa embraced a curriculum that introduced her to the fundamental principles of First Aid, legal considerations, and common medical emergencies. Under the guidance of the esteemed instructor, Dr. Nasra, she delved into practical exercises, honing skills in CPR, AED usage, and techniques for managing choking incidents across various age groups. This hands-on approach not only equipped her with life-saving skills but also instilled a sense of confidence and readiness to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Ms Lisa said: “In the class, I have learned basic introduction to First Aid, legal and ethical considerations related to providing First Aid including consent and good samaritan laws, basic Anatomy and physiology and common medical emergencies such as heart attack, stroke and Diabetic emergencies”. She continued, “Dr Nasra has hands on practice approach where I practiced basic First Aid Skills such as CPR, use of an AED and Management of Choking Victim”

Reflecting on her personal encounters, Ms. Singa vividly recounted an incident where lack of knowledge intensified a family emergency. A burn incident involving her sister highlighted the criticality of immediate response and the need for basic First Aid awareness. Her retrospective analysis underscored the importance of having essential knowledge to mitigate the severity of injuries during crises, emphasizing the transformative potential of possessing even the most rudimentary First Aid skills.

Lisa Pendaeli Singa’s insights extend beyond her personal encounters; she advocates for broader dissemination of First Aid education. Her vision encompasses strategies to entice individuals by employing real-life scenarios, emphasizing the gravity of emergencies and the life-saving potential of immediate First Aid responses. She then said ” I want to play a crucial roles in ensuring safety and well-being within the aerospace industry through knowledge gain by becoming a member of the Emergency Response System Team where I can provide immediate assistance in the event of injuries, accidents or medical emergencies.” She then added, “I would like to contribute to on-board safety during flight and provide training and education sessions within the aerospace industry”.

Lisa is a graduate from University of Dar es Salaam, she Studied Political Science and Currently pursuing Cabin Crew Course at Precision Air Services PLC, Tanzania .
